Herzog and DeMeuron in their Eberswalde Library develop a technique of embedding silkscreen prints into concrete walls.   This project is related to both pop art (andy warhol silkscreens) and minimalism (donald judd boxes).

Above is a link to some interesting images of the Dominus Winery by Herzog and DeMeuron.  In this building the main wall skin is expressed as raw stones placed inside a wire cage.

From the book Herzog and Demeuron Natural History  :  “H and D understood that the ‘essential is not revealed’ that the winery is only a shell, just as the bottle is only a container.”
