Amiens Cathedral.   This is the “classic” example of architectural tectonics.  The stone is organized to transfer the loads to the ground in an efficient and visually expressive manner.

Above is a link to some interesting images of the Dominus Winery by Herzog and DeMeuron.  In this building the main wall skin is expressed as raw stones placed inside a wire cage.   

From the book Herzog and Demeuron Natural History  :  “H and D understood that the ‘essential is not revealed’ that the winery is only a shell, just as the bottle is only a container.”
